Assignment 1. "Introduction to business communication"

1. How do you define communication?
R: Communication is the free way we have to express ourselves in a social environment

2. What is the role of communication in management of business?
R: Communication plays a very important role, since great businesses have emerged from good communication, as well as the strengthening of companies thanks to the ties created by it.

3. What are the different purposes of communication? Briefly explain any five of them.
R: 1.- For the instruction

It is a process that occurs regularly in companies, since the transmission of orders is seen in a managerial way from the highest to the lowest position.

2.- By integration:

This only seeks to carry out activities where members create bonds and favor individual or collective performance

3.- To inform:

The information that flows within communication occurs in companies as it flows horizontally, vertically and vertically according to the needs of the organization

4.- For teaching:

This process is fundamental in an organization, as it directs workers towards a path of safety and integrity in their work.

5.- To influence:

 This process marks how the workers can always be influenced to guide the members and achieve the tasks effectively

4. Discuss the different situations when the communication exists.
R: Communication has a reason for being, it is made up of different elements that make it possible, such as transmitter and receiver, since one is in charge of sending a message while the other receives it, if one of these fails, there is no satisfactory communication.

5. “Communication is an exchange of facts, ideas, opinions and emotions by two or more

persons.” Explain the statement and discuss the role of feedback in communication.

R: I fully support the statement, since the human being by nature is a social being who daily seeks a way to communicate with his environment, although sometimes he does not intend to communicate verbally, he also does so by his bodily expressions, therefore we are always communicating something .

6. “Communication is the two way process.” Explain.
R: Communication is governed by a process / cycle through which, the purpose is to transmit all that feeling within the perspective in which each being individually lives his environment, therefore, to be able to communicate between two or more people It is necessary both the one who transmits and the one who receives and make it effective.

7. Discuss the elements of communication process.
R: To be effective, communication must have 8 basic elements, which seek to be part of a complete cycle, where whatever is being communicated, the recipient is able to understand the message without losing any element.

8. Give three examples of brain drain in communication process.
- Different capabilities in transmitter or receiver (deaf-mutes)

- Different cultures

- Education and different values
